Forging Habits

“Habit is habit, and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.” -Mark Twain

As the saying goes: “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” Perhaps I’m a perpetual iconoclast, but for better or worse I’ve always disagreed with this statement. I think you can rewire your brain and learn new skills, techniques, and habits at any stage of life—as long as you’re willing to put forth the effort. There’s an iPhone app I’ve been using recently to help me develop new habits like calling my parents more frequently, meditating, and setting my daily priorities—it’s called “Lift.” I love it.

What habits are you working to forge? Are you using any apps to help you forge those habits?
