During the summer, I enjoy white wines and rosé quite frequently. I used to ignore red wines all together in the summertime, but that changed when I discovered tinto de verano . Tinto de verano is a Spanish summer drink that translates to “red wine of summer” in English. It is a fabulous way to turn red wines usually served at room temperature into a cool cocktail perfect for the summer heat. It’s simpler to make than sangria, but just as tasty and less sweet. This is a perfect way to enjoy a cheap bottle of wine (aka something from Trader Joe’s).
